Carex morrowii 'Ice Dances' - Flat
flats/carex_id_2.jpg flats/carex_id.jpg
Carex morrowii 'Ice Dances'
Common Names: Ice Dance Sedge, Sedge Grass, Japanese Sedge, Evergold Carex.
Zone: 5 to 9, evergreen in the southern zones.
Full sun in northern zones, but prefers partial to full shade.

Mature size: 6 to 12 inches mounding plant spreads slowly by rhizomes.
A dwarf, dark green, white border easy to grow variegated Japanese Carex. Leaf blades are wider and have more substance than the most variegated sedges. Prefers moist, well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soil, and performs great in water gardens. Dense, mound-forming habit will limit your weeding and brighten any area. Brownish, insignificant springtime flowers.

2002 Outstanding Plant Award from the International Hardy Plant Union.

Use this ornamental grass in borders, containers, ground cover, rock gardens and water gardens or an aquarium. Plant (8) inches apart for an immediate full, dense look. Maintenance free, trim to the ground in late winter, and deer resistant. Propagate by division in the spring, but do not divide clumps into little divisions, with small root systems.

Limited inventory until mid-May.
*Sold as a Flat of eighteen (18) plants in four (4) inch pots.
Price per plant $3.96.

One Flat of (18) plants counts as one (1) item
